Key contract requirements include enabling patients to contact practices without needing to re-contact later and ensuring same-day responses for urgent requests.

Better visibility of repeat medicines in the NHS App

Updates to the NHS App prescriptions feature now allow patients to view all their active repeat medicines in one location. This update helps reduce confusion regarding prescription requests and supports safer medication management. All TPP practices are currently utilising this feature, with Optum practices set to implement it from June. Feedback can be shared using this form.

NHS cervical screening programme – Digital communication assets

New digital communication assets have been released to support the NHS cervical screening programme. Supporting research delivery in primary care

Research is increasingly integrated into primary care, facilitating greater access for patients and the public. Following changes to the Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme from April 2026, primary care networks (PCNs) can now recruit roles specifically focused on research delivery, enhancing research capacity within the sector.
